Prior to beginning my real estate career, I taught school in Kentucky for 29 years. My husband, Ron Duvall, worked in the student loan industry for 33 years. In 2003, we made a major decision in our lives to move to Arizona. I retired from teaching, my husband retired from KY state government, and he accepted a job with Southwest Student Services Corporation. After a few years that company was purchased by Sallie Mae Corporation. Eventually my husband left Sallie Mae, and he joined Keller Williams Realty East Valley as a buyers agent. I worked there as a Property Search, Lead Generation, & Marketing specialist. When Realty ONE Group® opened up an office in Gilbert, Ronny joined that brokerage. I took a Real Estate Assistant Course at AZREB, and worked for my husband as his transaction coordinator until a few months ago.
This past year, Ronny Duvall expressed to me that he wanted to play more Pickleball and work a little less. We decided that I would get my real estate license to help him out with daytime showings. When he was available, then he would carry on with the business as he had always done, and I would still continue working in his “back office.” This plan was to go into effect in April when I would start real estate school.
Fate, however, has a way of turning our lives another direction when least expected. My husband passed away very suddenly while playing Pickleball in late March 2016. At first I was ready to withdraw into my own little world and cry all day. I had no purpose and no plan. I realized one day I could not stay in my home 24/7 without my partner of almost 43 years being there with me. I had to do something. Working in real estate was something I knew, so I made a decision to carry on those plans that Ronny and I had previously made. I signed up for real estate school and obtained by license.
My goal is to keep the business that Ronny and I created together “up and running.” I know it will be a difficult task to "step into his shoes," but I know he will be right there with me every step I take.
I believe I have the skills and strengths to be a great realtor. I have learned from one of the best. I will strive to continue to provide the same type of service you received from my husband-honesty, loyalty, dependability, and detail oriented. I will not sell you a house just to get a sale or attempt to pressure you to write an offer on one you really don't want. I will listen to what you are looking for in a home and help you find one that meets your criteria. If you are selling your home, I will be the ideal champion for it, making sure it is priced right, and that your home gets maximum marketing exposure.
Successful small businesses depend largely on referrals so I am very motivated to do such an outstanding job that you will enthusiastically recommend me to family and friends. Whether you want to live in Ahwatukee, Apache Junction, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Gold Canyon, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, or Tempe, I want to help you with your real estate needs.
