Finding the Perfect Father’s Day Gift

Father’s Day is coming up soon, which probably means if you haven’t already picked out a gift, now’s a good time as ever to start shopping! Just like Mother’s Day, it can be tough to pick out the perfect gift for Dad, which is where we come in. You can opt for the usual gifts like tool sets, funny ties and even the stand-by “World’s Best Dad” coffee mug, but if you’re looking to explore other options, we have a few ideas of our own that you can consider.

Patio Coolers

If you dad is a fan of spending most of his days in the backyard with friends and family, consider upgrading his drink cooler with a standup wooden cooler. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t mind a DIY project, there are plenty of easy to follow plans online that show you step-by-step how to take your already existing cooler and give it a facelift with some planks of wood and a bit of elbow grease.

Outdoor Theatre

If that’s the case, consider giving your dad the gift of an outdoor theater that he and the entire family can enjoy, especially during those warm summer nights. When putting together an outdoor theater, all you need is a wall (or hang a white, ironed sheet on a wall), a projector, a media player like your laptop, DVD player or Blu-Ray player, and a sound system or Bluetooth speaker. You don’t need to spend a fortune for this gift if you use what you already have around the house, and Dad will surely appreciate you keeping the cost down to a minimum.

High-Tech Hobbies and Toys

If you dad has a hobby or interest he enjoys pursuing, try to find a gift that caters to said interest. Does your dad enjoy listening to music? High-tech items like an Amazon Echo or the more affordable version, the Echo Dot, can upgrade his music listening experience. Even something simple like a set wireless headphones can be a game changer. For the dad who enjoys playing with trendy gadgets and likes to take videos, drones are the hottest item on the market. If his favorite pastime is working out, a smart watch may be the best way to go.

Home Alone

Sometimes the perfect gift is the gift of time, so do Dad a favor and take the kids out for a day so that he can spend that time doing whatever he wants. Whether that means enjoying a game on TV, admiring the glories of his backyard, or just taking a nap, he’ll be recharged and appreciative of the time to himself once you and your family come home at the end of the day.

Our dads do a lot for us and while they may tell you they don’t need a gift for Father’s Day, they deserve the best. As long as your gift comes from the heart, he’ll love and appreciate it. Have a Happy Father’s Day!
